The Slice from PBS It's about Community.

Im Monica Hendrickson I am the organizer of the College of Saint Scholastica Thanksgiving Day Buffet.

We've been doing this for over 30 years, and it's it's an annual tradition, and it fits with the Benedictine values here at the college.

It's one of those events that rallies the entire community.

We have about a thousand volunteers, give or take, on any year.

And we also have all of our corporate teams that come in, and they're all helping to volunteer.

And then, of course, our community members the day of.

So we had hundreds of volunteers the day of to help serve the meals at the DECC and to help deliver the meals to people who are homebound.

But we have about 4000 meals that will make at the DECC so people can go through the buffet line.

Everyone is welcome to that meal.

We also do about 1300 to 1400 meals to people who are homebound.

All of those orders are due by November 20th, and the easiest way to get those is to go to the College of St.

Scholasticas website.

The in-person event is held on Thanksgiving Day from 11 to 3 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.

It is the most eclectic group of people you will ever see.

And it's it's probably our favorite part because you get people from all walks of life.

Thanksgiving is one of those times where, you know, everyone puts their differences aside and you just come together as a community.
