The Gary New Duluth community has always been a close knit area.
I'm Fran Morris with the GND Development Alliance.
We are so excited to be celebrating the Christmas season with one of our fabulous bake sales.
We started small in 2016, and we've grown to what you see today.
And the purpose is, you know, to earn money for programing.
Here we have Boys and Girls Club doing summer programing for the kids, And we have the YMCA that provides, exercise classes for adults The GND REC is so important.
It truly is the center of the community.
The people in the room today that are working, our elves, we've all become friends.
I started coming to a class here and everyone just took me under their wing, and it's been a great experience.
The community here is amazing.
we just have fun with it.
I think the last time I heard, there are 48 people in the community who bake Vonnie billet is our chief elf And she works tirelessly, putting everything together, gathering all the volunteer elves.
