And if people think about it, they just don't know what it is to even begin with.
My name is Katie Ulseth I am an instructor and engineering instructor for Minnesota North College and part of the Iron Range engineering program.
so one way I define engineering to maybe help you better understand, what we do is that engineers solve problems using math and science and creativity.
And they solve these problems to make the world a better place.
So we have our second annual Engineering Expo.
And so the whole point behind this day is we have over 27 Hands-On booths for the students, 9th through 12th grade at Rock Ridge to learn about engineering.
I'm Willie Spelts the director of school to work engagement and fundraising coordinator at Rock Ridge Public Schools.
with this engineering event, I'm hoping that the students will get exposed to the many careers inside the engineering fields.
I hope they know that Rock Ridge Public Schools is a career academy high school that makes an intentional effort to teach our kids about the many careers, the many opportunities available after high school.
Instead of learning about it in college and realizing they don't like it.
Maybe they can find that out here, We have 8 different pathways that are developed for our students, and they can take courses right here.
I hope that people will know that Rock Ridge High School is doing a great job of preparing their students.
