About two years ago, we decided that we really needed to step in and do something to help refurbish the organ before it failed.

I'm Susan Rudberg and I am co-chair of the Organ Steering Committee.

at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing, Minnesota.

It was installed in dedicated in 1956, with those original pipes which are part of the organ.

I came up and started taking care of the organ for probably about 2 or 3 years before the church decided to do the restoration project.

One of Russell's assistants, pulled out a pipe that was stamped Saint John's Lutheran Church in Salisbury, North Carolina.

They had initially, installed their organ in 1926.

And in 1950 needed to restore their organ and decided to replace it.

So they, contracted with an organ company and asked that the company reuse the pipes.

Pipes don't mean they age, but they don't really.

There's nothing really that wears out on them.

It's really the other mechanical components.

I was a member since I was young.

Since I was a young kid and was married here.

The organ is one of my favorite things about church.

I think, any church that does have a pipe organ is particularly blessed.

An organ called the King of Instruments, because it has so many different voices.

(Music) We are going to have a dedication concert after Easter.

It's a lasting part of worship that we can continue on to the next generation and future generations for this church to keep it vibrant and alive.
