Juneteenth has been recognized in my family for years, long before it was a national holiday.
But it's important to see it now as we move forward and weve got to look back.
Weve got to remember those hearts and souls that made it possible for us to be here today.

Juneteenth is not only that African heritage story, its an American story and it needs to be told in that way.
