Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipHi everybody.
My name is Chris Swanson.
I'm a DFL candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives for District 11A.
District 11A covers all of Carlton County.
Uh a little bit of northern Pine County and a portion of South St.
Louis County.
I work as a teacher.
Uh that's how I see much of uh American politics through.
I get to help my students understand the stuff of national government, some of state government, and of course, as a local government official myself serving on the Cloquet City Council, I get to help them understand that as well.
Now, I know it's a little bit different uh coming out of the classroom going to the state legislature, but it's been a pleasure to really get to meet uh 17 to,800 people at their doors over the course of the last many months.
I'm looking forward to bridging the divide again to to help people with the troubles that they have.
It's time again for leadership that understands and can help to un uh help to help everybody else understand what the issues are that are affecting our area.
I know that it's been a challenging time.
Craziness coming out of Washington DC is seeping into Minnesota politics and that's heartbreaking.
We've got to quit with the crazy rhetoric.
We've got to make sure that we're getting stuff done to help our area.
We got to make sure that we get economic development to flow back into our area.
It's time again to help and to help people that really, really need the help.
No more fraud, no more waste, no more abuse.
It is time to make sure that those tax dollars are being spent in the way that they were intended to.
And dog on it, if we can't make sure that that office of inspector general is doing its job, well then those people need to go too.
We have got so much work to do.
I am eager eager to hear the concerns of our population to to hear the concerns of the people in rural America in rural Carlton County and even those people that are living where I live in Cloquet and down in Moose Lake as well.
People in Pine County, people in Carlton County, people in St.
Louisis County are surely going to have a voice in St.
Paul.
Again, they're going to have a representative that really listens and a person who really cares to help our youngest to our oldest.
Those child care centers that need some help have a have an ear with me.
Those older folks that are in their retirement age and and uh seeing the sunset of life, they have an ear with me.
Those educators, those children, those kids that need help, they have an ear with me.
I'm looking forward to serving and serving well in the state legislature.
My name is Chris Swanson.
I'm a DFL candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives.
And you can find me you can find my record.
You can find my uh social media stuff on Facebook and we can we can get some good things done again.
It's time.
I'm glad to serve.
I'm just here to help.
Thank you so much.
