I'm Frank Costa and I am running to be your assembly representative.
I was born and raised in Ashen, Wisconsin and lived my my whole life up there pretty much.
When I got out of high school, I had a problem with uh finding a job.
So, I had to even leave the area to find a job and I was working up in northern Minnesota in the mines.
Uh later on, I I discovered I didn't like that.
I decided to go in the Air Force.
Then I spent 20 years in the Air Force because of my situation leaving town.
Uh I jobs is really important to me and I've always thought that Wisconsin needs good paying jobs.
Um we cannot raise uh a family or buy a house working in the service industry.
So I think it's really critical that you have a a a good paying job with benefits, health care, and a retirement program.
So, I'm fully supportive of that.
I'm also very excited about trying to uh keep our energy prices down.
Uh we uh we're paying a little bit too much for energy.
I know the legislature tried having some bills to exempt uh our taxes on uh our energy costs and but that failed.
But, uh I would like to see them progress with that.
The other thing I'm really interested in is keeping our taxes down.
we pay too much tax as as uh is supported by a over a2 billion dollar uh surplus that we have and I would be all supportive of trying to get that returned to the citizens of of the state of Wisconsin.
There are many things that my opponent has kind of been against and seems like she's more in favor of supporting uh uh the the uh Madison issues versus Northern Wisconsin.
And some of them that I' I've really keyed in on looking at her voting record was uh voting no on taxes on tips, voting no to exempt uh re uh overtime, and voting no to exempt retired pay, which is critical for our senior citizens.
I would really enjoy supporting you in the in the in the Madison Madison legislature and any vote I make would be to support northern Wisconsin because that's where my heart is.
When I was in the Air Force, I traveled all over the country.
And I I made that decision, me and my family, to come back to northern Wisconsin because this has always been my home.
And so I look forward to making it grow with your help to get me elected.
We can do it.
Thank you.
Hi, my name is Angela Straoud.
I'm running for assembly in the 73rd district, far farthest north district in Wisconsin, running from Superior to the eastern edge of Bad River.
I'm just finishing my first term in the assembly and what I have learned is that we should be expecting way more from our government.
There is so much that we can accomplish, but we need people who are elected into office who actually are focused on you, the people, the voters, and not their political careers or their donors or their party.
It's really important that we elect people who recognize that government can be a force of good, but only if we have people there who are working hard to understand the complexity of issues and that are coming back to their districts and being held accountable by the people they're supposed to represent.
I'm really proud of what I accomplished in my first term.
I was the lead author on a data center regulation bill, for example.
Unfortunately, it wasn't taken up by the majority, but we have a lot of optimism that in the next se next session, we're going to have the opportunity to get that passed so we can finally provide guard rails on data centers, which people are clamoring for.
I'm also really proud of the work that I was able to do in the city of Superior.
Um, it would it was tough, took a lot of negotiations, but through working through through issues with the city and the utility, I was able to secure free leadline replacement for anyone who needs their lead lines replaced.
that wasn't on the table until the mayor of Superior and I worked together to make sure that was going to happen.
And I've been a huge advocate for our schools.
I recognize that our property values, our property taxes are way too high and those need to come down.
And they will when we have a majority in the legislature that knows that funding public schools is a priority from the state.
It can't just be on our property taxes.
But we're going to have to elect people who actually really care about public education to get there.
I spent my career before running for office in education.
It's something that um is really dear to my heart because we owe it to our kids to get this right.
So, there's just so much that is possible when we elect people who take this job seriously, who understand how hard they have to work to get results.
It's been an honor to serve the 73rd.
Um, I I I know that I get to represent the best district in the entire state and you know from our lake our lakes to our forest to the biggest lake um to to the community and and all the people here who live here because they love it.
Um it's just it's such an honor.
I look forward to representing you again and I appreciate getting your vote on November 3rd.
Again, I'm Angela Straoud.
I'm running for the 73rd Assembly District and um appreciate your support.
