My name is Naawakwe And I work here at the fond du Lac Language and Cultural Building known as the Anishinaabewigamig.
And this is where I work as the Ojibwe language project manager for the final Lac band.
there's many teachings around Nama, as we call the sturgeon in our language.
You know, the the, the May is known as the one who gave Baaga'adowewin, to the Ojibwe people, Baaga'adowewin is the stickball they call it.
But it's a great gift that was given to us by Nam.
And for that reason, because of everything that is involved with Baaga'adowewin and everything that it gives to us.
The name is highly regarded for that great gift that Nam gave to us.
when I think about the name, of course, that in May is regarded for its gift of food.
It's such a large fish.
You can, harvest the nam almost year round.
And so because of that, it's been known and regarded as a great food source.
And one that gives us sustenance.
Beyond that, it also has another gift.
It's also connected to Baaga'adowewin And that the cartilage in the the nose of the Nam has been known that you could make a big Colquitt or a ball for Baaga'adowewin out of its nose The slice from PBS North.
