APPRAISER: Are you familiar with what it is?
Any ideas, or, uh... GUEST: I'm, I'm not exactly sure what it is.
I think it's a book discussing what RKO Radio Pictures is going to produce for the coming year.
APPRAISER: That's it.
They, uh... They're very nice books.
They were really sent out just to the primary theaters across the country.
Often, less than 1,000 are made of each one.
GUEST: Mm-hmm.
APPRAISER: And usually, they're-- they're kind of in the $200 range for the most part.
A little more if they have a lot of color in them.
Uh, but they have great pages.
There's a nice beautiful Disney page, and they did westerns.
A lot of famous stars, usually, if it was a big studio.
But the thing that really is nice about this book is... this particular page here, with Orson Welles.
GUEST: Oh, yes.
APPRAISER: And I'm sure you noticed that the title is John Citizen, U.S.A.
So, what do we think that turned into?
GUEST: I-I think that became Citizen Kane, am I right?
APPRAISER: That's it, yep.
The following year, it became really one of the world's greatest movies.
Considered, uh, you know, an all-time classic by a lot of film critics.
GUEST: Mm-hmm.
APPRAISER: I personally have sold this book for about $750, but that goes back about three years, so... GUEST: Wow.
APPRAISER: I'm putting this one at around $1,000 for now.
GUEST: I'm impressed.
APPRAISER: Really, a nice piece.
And you got w-- wonderful condition here.
It's really nice.
GUEST: Mm-hmm.
I assumed it was somewhat collectible, but I, I just thought it was very attractive.
Of course, they don't make movies like this anymore.
